Disinfectant-Ready Housing - products with an ultra-resistant coating not only for the healthcare industry
Healtcare (HC) devices have an increased susceptibility to the transmission of bacteria and viruses. Devices designated as DRH (Disinfectant-Ready Housings) have a different surface treatment.
They are used not only in hospital environments (usually white) but also in warehouses, retail, transport and logistics (black).
These devices are specially designed to withstand regular daily cleaning by harshdisinfectant chemicals without any adverse damage or compromise to the integrity of the equipment. The structure of the plastic is designed to facilitate the penetration of chemicals into the plastic.
Repeated use of chemical cleaners does not then cause discoloration of the equipment, swelling and hardening and cracking of the rubber or some plastics. This can lead to hardware failure, which increases the overall maintenance costs of the equipment.
Honeywell in particular is a leader in HC because it draws tremendous experience from Honeywell's chemical division.
Equipment manufactured with Honeywell under the DRH designation has undergone rigorous continuous chemical exposure testing for over 500 hours. Honeywell DRHs are designed to withstand multiple cleanings per hour, every day, with 34 approved cleaning solutions. In most cases, Honeywell products meet the same environmental requirements.
