Machine reading of ID cards not only for notaries
Both the ID card and the passport contain classically written information about the owner. But what you will also find on these documents is machine-readable information. These are the bottom three or two lines, accompanied by the characters "<<<<" .
With OCR (Optical Character Recognition), some computer programs can handle this. But what should I do if I want to read this information into the computer using a barcode scanner? Preferably into a program where I would otherwise have to enter it manually?
Our Opticon L51x barcode scanner is just the model you're looking for. Its 2D imager developed in Japan is capable of reading not only damaged and dirty codes, but especially this machine-readable text from documents. So there is no need for laborious transcribing and, most importantly, no possible writing errors.
You will find applications for machine-readable text from documents wherever documents are handled. These include offices, notary offices, pharmacies... but also discos that need to verify that the visitor is over 18 years old.
Contact us and we will arrange a setup just for your case. This will avoid long copying of information from documents and, most importantly, avoid mistakes. We can do this not only for readers but also for terminals.
