RFID food store without employees
ROUND THE CLOCK has opened its second 24/7 open shop with no employees at the end of 2022. This is possible thanks to a mobile app and RFID technology. As items are sold, they pass through a tunnel on the conveyor belt with RFID antennas where tags on food, merchandise is displayed on the customer's mobile screen and the total amount is deducted from the card after reconciliation.
This project came into being during the Metalloid era, when the Ministry of Industry and Commerce supported projects that targeted smaller people-to-people encounters. However, in the post-covid era, this functional system allows unattended shopping even at three in the morning.
Although grocery is not really one of the industries dedicated to RFID, ROUND THE CLOCK managed to overcome the obstacles and put a working system into operation. CODEWARE worked together to consult on the solution and we supplied all the RFID components such as readers, antennas and necessary components.
