The RS5100 is equipped with a powerful replaceable 480 mAh battery, which lasts up to 12 hours when fully charged, or up to 14,400 scans. For cold environments or longer shifts Zebra offers an enhanced battery with 735 mAh. In addition to NFC the ring scanner features Bluetooth support. Thus, it remains connected even up to 90 meters from the host device. The RS5100 also reliably and quickly captures 1D and 2D barcodes, as well as OCR, thanks to an intelligent combination of imaging hardware, software and optics (PRZM) from Zebra and a powerful megapixel sensor. And in almost any condition – whether they are damaged, dirty or poorly printed. A clear good scan confirmation occurs via an acoustic signal or various programmable LEDs on the rear of the scanner, which also blink, as needed. An optional vibration function is also integrated. The ring scanner is also robust. It easily withstands multiple falls from up to 1.8 meters and is fully protected against the ingress of dust and splash water according to its IP65 certification. Plus, the metal buckles and nylon straps do not stretch, to avoid wear. The RS5100 is supported by service contracts for the Zebra services OneCare Essential, OneCare Select and Zebra Mobility DNA offerings.
