Project objectives:

Implementation of an attendance and access control system.

Project Description:

CODEWARE designed and implemented a complete attendance and access system. The system was developed in both Czech and English, as Atlas Copco is a multinational company.

By implementing the access and attendance system, all access doors in the company are monitored and at the same time the movement of all persons is mapped. The company has an overview of the attendance of its employees.

The architecture of the whole system is shown in the figure:

Access control system

Every associate or employee of the company has a smart card. The smart card is used to identify him/her both at the door and at the entrance to the office. The door is open only for authorized access.

If opened to an authorised person, each entry is recorded in the control unit, which sends the data to a database on the server. A listing of all persons and exact movements for a particular door can be obtained from the TeS access system each day.

The control unit contains a backup power supply. Even after a power failure, it is possible to monitor people and open access doors using an electronically switched lock.

The TeS access monitoring application is installed on a Linux server. The TeS application collects data from a variety of controllers that can control different entry systems - e.g. Doors, turnstiles and other devices with electronically switched relays.

Attendance system

The smart card is used to record the time an employee arrives at work, leaves for lunch or a business trip. All recorded data is stored in the attendance control unit.

This collects all the data and displays the result in the user application - DOCH 3, which is installed on the server. The DOCH 3 application accurately calculates the time of work, lunches, business trips, etc.

The access and attendance system is installed on Atlas Copco's server. The application can be started on each user station according to the defined access rights of each user.
